Swaby Defends Leadership of KSAMC Amid Calls for Change

President of the Jamaica Social and Cultural Development Commission (KSAMC), Desmond Swaby, has fired back at critics who have been calling for his resignation, saying he will continue to lead the organization until the end of the term. Swaby, who has been at the helm since 2018, has faced intense scrutiny over his leadership, with many questioning his ability to drive meaningful change within the commission.

Despite the mounting pressure, Swaby remains resolute, insisting that he is committed to the development of Jamaica’s culture and society. He has called on his detractors to support his initiatives, rather than undermining his efforts with calls for his resignation. “I am not here to be a figurehead,” Swaby said in a statement. “I am here to drive progress and make a difference in the lives of our people.”

The KSAMC has been under fire recently for its handling of various cultural and social issues, with some critics accusing Swaby of being out of touch with the needs of the people. However, Swaby remains confident in his ability to lead the organization and deliver on its mandate. He has vowed to continue to work tirelessly for the benefit of Jamaican society, despite the opposition.
